Desperate Striker Search Over? Chelsea Linked with Mega Money Transfer Move For PSG Superstar

Chelsea are interested in signing Edison Cavani from PSG in a deal of around £50m.

The Sunday Express are reporting that Maurizio Sarri is desperate to add a striker to his Chelsea squad this month and that the PSG striker is now a genuine option. The Blues have been linked with a host of names recently including Callum Wilson and Gonzalo Higuain but it now appears as if Cavani is at the front of the queue.

The 31-year-old striker is no spring chicken but his goal scoring record is top class with 324 goals in 519 games and would certainly add a cutting edge to a Chelsea team which has been seriously lacking a cutting edge in front of goal.

Alvaro Morata scored two goals in the FA Cup on Saturday but still looks to be lacking confidence and will surely be looking to put an end to his Stamford Bridge stay as soon as possible.

Cavani may feel it is time to leave the French capital having played second fiddle to Neymar and Mbappe of late and a move to the Bridge does appear to be a genuine option if this latest story is to be believed.

The Uruguayan forward made his name in Serie A with Napoli before moving to Ligue 1 but one thing hasn't changed during that period, and that is his ability to score goals.

It could be a busy month for Chelsea with Cesc Fabregas set to leave the club after bidding an emotional goodbye to English football on Saturday afternoon with the former Arsenal man set to join Thierry Henry in Monaco.
