Tottenham and England forward Harry Kane has been rated as the most valuable player in world football a study by the CIES Football Observatory has revealed. At £176.25m he heads the list of the top 100 players currently playing in Europe’s top five leagues.
The 24-year-old has been placed ahead of PSG duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, the two most expensive players in the world. The Brazilian start is valued at £171.74m following his £198m move from Barcelona last summer whilst the French youngster is valued at £163.41m.
Mbappe is set to join the French champions permanently this summer for a fee believed to be around the £165m mark so according to this study, that figure is not far off his true value. The world’s best player, Lionel Messi, has dropped down to fourth in this list given he is nearing 30 but he is still worth just shy of £162 million.
Meanwhile, Liverpool star Mo Salah after a simply outstanding season is now the fifth most valuable in world football just behind the Argentinian legend. Cristiano Ronaldo is perhaps surprisingly down in 24th position valued at £90 million, which is still more than Real Madrid paid for him almost a decade ago, but at 33 his best days are behind him.
Tottenham teammate Dele Alli makes it into sixth place whilst the rest of the top ten is made up of Kevin de Bruyne, Antoine Griezmann, Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku.
