England v Spain Combined XI: Find Out Which Barcelona, Manchester United And Chelsea Stars Feature In Our Line-Up

England take on Spain in their opening match of the UEFA Nations League at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening and the two teams are littered with quality as a number of Europe's top players will be in action.

We've had a go at creating a starting line-up combined of the best players from both teams in a 4-3-3 formation. Despite England's run to the semi-finals of the World Cup, only four of Gareth Southgate's squad make it into our team, while seven Spaniards are in as they look to re-build following their embarrassing exit at the hands of Russia in the knockout stages of the World Cup earlier this summer.

(Dons tin hat) - Let us know who you would have picked...

David de Gea (Manchester United)
The Manchester United goalkeeper has made an inauspicious start to the Premier League season and he has struggled to reproduce his best form for Spain during his international career. However, he is a proven performer at the top level and he gets the nod ahead of England's Jordan Pickford.

Kyle Walker (Manchester City)
Kyle Walker slots in at right-back despite his fine performances for England as part of a back-three at the World Cup. He offers a threat going forward and is generally reliable defensively.

Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)
The Chelsea star has been in sensational form for his club side so far this term and he just gets the nod for a surprisingly competitive left-back position. Alonso has only been capped once by Spain but he would have a few more caps if we were manager.

John Stones (Manchester City)
John Stones has grown as a player under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and he increased in stature as an international player during the World Cup.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
Not everyone's cup of tea but he is a fine defender and a clever operator. He would undoubtedly be one of the first names on our 'S*%thouse XI' too.

Thiago Alcantara (Bayern Munich)
A classy midfielder, Thiago was one of the most sought after players during the summer transfer window and the Bayern Munich star is a shoe-in for our team.

Sergio Busquets (Barcelona)
Another contender for our 'Sh*%thouse XI', Sergio Busquets is a master of the 'dark arts' of football and there are no better defensive midfielders available from these two squads.

Isco (Real Madrid)
The Spanish midfielder offers some much-needed creativity to our midfield and the former Valencia youth product offers a serious goal threat too.

Dele Alli (Tottenham)
Dele Alli and Isco's positions would perhaps be interchangeable in our team, although the Tottenham star gets a more advanced role to start with as he can link up with his club teammate, Harry Kane.

Harry Kane (Tottenham)
Diego Costa's withdrawal from the Spanish squad with injury has made our decision a little easier as Harry Kane is the chosen centre forward. Kane continues to bang in the goals, although Costa's return would be timely as our star striker could do with a rest as he has looked a little tired following his exertions for club and country.

Marco Asensio (Real Madrid)
One of the first names on our team-sheet, Marco Asensio is one of the most exciting talents in world football.

What do you make of our combined XI - let us know who you would have picked...
