Preview: Portugal’s attacking players have been impressive in Qatar so far with Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leao in particular standing out. However, as their defeat to South Korea and two goals conceded to Ghana show, they are vulnerable at the back. That is something Switzerland could exploit after they discovered their attacking rhythm in their win over Serbia. The pace of Breel Embolo and skill of Xherdan Shaqiri could be the key for Murat Yakin’s side in this particular battle.
Sportsman stat: Portugal have opened the scoring in eight of their last nine World Cup matches. However, they lost after taking the lead against South Korea for the first time ever at the World Cup after 19 matches.
