Forget Mo Salah And Sergio Aguero, This Criticised Manchester United Striker Is Making A Late Top Premier League Goalscorer Charge

Romelu Lukaku has perhaps rightly received a huge amount of criticism during his spell at Manchester United but there is no doubt that the Belgian forward is a goalscorer.

The former Everton man has been dropped and shunted out wide in recent weeks following a difficult start to this season but it is testament to his resilience that he is back in the team and back in fine form in front of goal.

Lukaku has tended to split opinions more than most players but a brace this afternoon against Southampton has moved the the striker on to 12 Premier League goals for the season and just six behind Sergio Aguero at the top of the charts.

The Manchester City stars remains the massive favourites to lift the golden boot gong of course but Lukaku is quietly putting together an excellent end to the season and he can't be ruled out of making a late run at the trophy.

Each-way punters will certainly be keeping a close eye on the former Chelsea striker with Man United now playing a much more attractive style of football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer which will of course lead to more chances for the big forward.

The 25-year-old may not be everyone's cup of tea in terms of a natural footballer but he does score goals in the box and he has done so all his career. Despite his struggles for playing time, Lukaku is now Manchester United's top Premier League scorer and his goals this afternoon took him past Didier Drogba in the all-time scoring list.

It is remarkable to think that he is just 25 given the number of years Lukaku has played at the highest level and although he does still have some ground to make up on the likes of Salah and Aguero, there is no doubt the powerful forward is once again reminding Premier League fans of his scoring quality.
