Chelsea vs Everton at Stamford Bridge is a Premier League fixture that often leaves the Merseyside outfit feeling Blue as they trudge their way back up to the North West.

The Toffees have a rotten record at the stadium, failing to win on any of their last 23 Premier League visits, dating all the way back to 1994.

Few will back Everton to bring an end to that shocking statistic considering that the club are also woeful on a Sunday, losing 11 of their last 13 matches, while there’s the small matter of attempting to become the first club to inflict a first league defeat upon Chelsea since May of last season.

Speaking of undefeated records, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has history in his sights this weekend.

Should Sarri’s troops avoid defeat to Everton on Sunday afternoon, the Italian will set a brand spanking new record for the longest unbeaten Premier League start by a manager.

That’s right. No gaffer in the history of the Premier League era has ever gone 12 matches unbeaten at the start of a tenure.

Sarri is currently level on 11 unbeaten matches with former Nottingham Forest manager Frank Clark, who achieved that feat way back in 1994/95, however he’s on the cusp of bagging the outright record.

This would be an exceptional accomplishment considering the plethora of high-calibre managers that have plyed their trade in the Premier League.

Earlier in the week Chelsea were left as the only unbeaten side in Europe’s top-five leagues following Juventus’ late collapse against Man Utd, then 24 hours later they overcame BATE Borisov in the Europa League, as the London club made it 17 matches without defeat in all competitions, a record Sarri and his side will be bidding to propel to 18 on Sunday.
