Fulham Forward Aboubakar Kamara Arrested Following Reports Of Fight At Club's Training Ground

Fulham forward Aboubakar Kamara has been arrested on suspicion of actually bodily harm and criminal damage following an incident at the club’s training ground yesterday.

Reports from the Daily Mail claim that the incident in question was an altercation between Kamara and a member of Fulham club staff.

The 23-year-old striker has been a controversial presence at the club of late, making headlines and infuriating his manager when he snached a penalty kick from the grasp of recognised penalty taker Aleksandar Mitrović - before missing it - in a 1-0 loss against Huddersfield last month.

It was later reported that the pair of strikers had a physical altercation during a yoga session and Kamara has since been linked with a swift move away from the club.

A statement from a spokesperson of the Met Police said:  'Police were called to a training ground in New Malden, shortly after 17.00hrs on Monday, 21 January to reports of a fight.

'Officers attended. One man, in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of ABH and criminal damage.

'He has been taken into custody in a south London police station. Enquiries continue.'

The club themselves released a statement saying the following: ‘The Club is grateful for the swift attention and action by the Metropolitan Police immediately following our reporting of the incident on Monday.

'The subject who was arrested is banned indefinitely from Motspur Park and all club activities.

'We will refrain from further comment but will stress that we will fully cooperate with any new or continuing investigation or legal proceeding in the name of providing everyone a secure and safe working environment.'
