It was a buoyant press conference for Manchester United (interim) manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of travelling down to face top-four rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Well, why wouldn’t it be? Still undefeated at the helm in the Premier League, coming off making history in Paris after overturning a 2-0 home leg defeat to PSG and gaining passage into the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League
Solskjaer can make it ten away wins on the trot, extending his stunning club record with a win over the Gunners in North London this Sunday, and he’ll be helped by one returning hero.
Anthony Martial has been injured for the past month with a groin injury, missing the last three Premier League games, the trip to the France capital, and the FA Cup win over Chelsea.
United lead the list in the English top tier with most injuries decimating their squad, making their recent achievements all the more remarkable; Martial has been one of a massive TEN players sidelined.
Eric Bailly hobbled off at the Parc des Princes in the first half, whilst midfield engines Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera have been out with respective hamstring injuries.
But it’s all good news with the latest update offered by Solskjaer (MEN) as he tries to get his squad back up to full strength;
"Eric’s fine. Anthony will be available and hopefully we’ll have Nemanja and/or Ander ready as well, so looking better for it they just need to have another couple of days training with the team, they’ve done their recovery work."
As Manchester United head into this crucial stage of the season, more returning stars are of course are massive benefit. The Red Devils are currently competing for two cups as well as trying to qualify for a Champions League spot next season.
Arsenal versus Manchester United kicks off on Sunday 10th March at 16:30pm (GMT).
