''If He Wants The Job, It's His'' - Outspoken Manchester United Legend Makes Startling Mauricio Pochettino Claim

Mauricio Pochettino continues to be the headline name linked with the permanent managerial vacancy at Manchester United and one former player seems confident that the Spurs gaffer is the man heading to Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has taken the reins from the sacked Jose Mourinho until the end of the season but it would be a major surprise of the Norwegian was given the keys to the castle beyond that point.

Speculation has been rife all week that Poch is the man the Old Trafford club want and Paul Scholes, who isn't short of an opinion or two, is convinced that he is the right man for the job.

Pochettino is the man. I think if he wants the job, then I think it's his...can he ever really win the league at Tottenham? I'm not sure he can.

The former England midfielder was speaking to the BBC on Friday when making this interesting claim with the decision seemingly in the hands of the Spurs manager if these quotes are to be taken at face value.

Tottenham fans will be getting increasingly worried about the loss of their popular manager with the lure of moving to a club like Manchester United likely to be very strong indeed for their ambitious coach.

The Argentinean has done a remarkable job in north London since impressing at Southampton and a move to the Theatre Of Dreams is starting to feel inevitable.

Paul Scholes was an outspoken critic of Jose Mourinho and understandably so but it appears as if his mood could be set to lift with the former Espanyol Manager now looking to be in pole position to take one of the biggest jobs in world football.
