Jose Mourinho Gives Injury Update On Alexis Sanchez & Manchester United Squad

Jose Mourinho has given an update on Manchester United’s injury doubts as attentions turn towards their trip the south coast to face Bournemouth in tomorrow’s early kick-off.

In a relatively jovial exchange in a press conference this morning, the Portuguese gave an update on how preparations have gone for their game since the 2-1 win over Everton at Old Trafford last Sunday.

“A very good week. We work tactically, we improve some fitness levels. We improve some of the players that were almost there but not there - Lingard, Alexis - these kind of players, that were already available but not yet at a good level.”

Two of those players who have been brought along in fitness terms are in line to play, including Alexis Sanchez.

“Dalot and Fellaini are still out,” he said. “The only one that went one step behind was Antonio Valencia with some problem in his knee. But Lingard and Alexis, now I can say ‘ready.’”

Much has been made of the Chilean Sanchez’s absences in recent weeks but he may now make an appearance, according to Mourinho.

The United manager found time to poke a bit of fun at the social media activity of one of his number, with Antonio Valencia and his gym selfies coming into his eyeline.

“Antonio Valencia watched something funny in his Instagram where he says work work work in the gym, he should say work work work alone because I am injured and cannot train with the team,” he joked.

Good to see old Jose has his finger on the pulse.
