Aaron Ramsey has confirmed his contract offer at Arsenal has been withdrawn and he has no idea the reasons behind that decision. In quotes given to The Guardian, the Welshman was left bemused by the club’s decision and now does not know where he stands.

He said: “Well, there is no contract on the table at the moment so there is nothing for me to consider or whatever.

“We all know that the contract was taken away off the table. I’m not sure exactly why because a few weeks before we sort of agreed and I was ready to sign.

“Something happened, I am not sure exactly what, but that contract is no longer there, or nothing’s on the table.

“Hopefully somebody will come up and tell me why. I’ll accept that if there’s a reason. At the moment, no, I haven’t. When the time is right, I probably will find out but that hasn’t happened yet.

Ramsey has been linked with several of Europe’s top clubs including PSG and Juventus, whilst several Premier League clubs would also benefit from his signature. He has made almost 250 appearances for Arsenal and is playing an important role this season, as the Gunners continue on an incredible run.

He continued “So I just have to get my head down, work hard and try and help this team as much as I can now. We’ll see where that takes me.”

“I’m not thinking about anything else apart from playing for Arsenal at the moment so we will see what the future holds further down the line.

“These things happen in football and I’m just concentrating on playing now. I’m not really thinking about anything else too much. I’ve got other things as well in my life that I’m delighted with.

“I had twins last week so everything is good at the moment for me. I can’t complain. I’m just going out there and trying to help this team as much as I can.

“The manager is just concentrating on football as well and wants me to do the best for this club. He trusts me, he’s made me one of the captains and we are just focusing on trying to achieve something special this season.”
