For the first time since the hazy days of 2007, neither Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi have got their mitts on the coveted Ballon d'Or, according to leaked reports.

The superstar duo have dominated the award, with five wins apiece over the last 10 years, however now is the time of Luka Modric to enjoy his moment in the spotlight with the Croatian all set to win the accolade this time around, if rumours are to be believed - scroll down for the leaked image of the top-30.

If so, then it's well deserved. He once again lifted the Champions League trophy with Real Madrid, while he went on to skipper Croatia to their first ever World Cup final, where they just fell short to France.

Ronaldo may not have defended his crown, but he can at least lay claim to being the runner-up, while Antoine Griezmann made up the top-three.

Fellow Frenchmen Kylian Mbappe and Raphael Varane came 4th and 7th respectively, with Messi in 5th.

Tottenham and England icon Harry Kane bagged 25 points in 10th, with Kevin de Bruyne in 9th, and Eden Hazard in 8th, while Mo Salah took the Premier League plaudits with a 6th place finish.

Neymar finished 12th, his first time out of the top-10 since 2012.

Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois, formerly of Chelsea, was the highest-ranked goalkeeper in this year's Ballon d'Or list in 14th, while his former Blues teammate N'Golo Kanté took 11th place.

Elsewhere Paul Pogba, who won the World Cup with France, was in 15th, Sergio Agüero came 16th, a place above Gareth Bale, while Roberto Firmino came 19th.
