Leeds United have endured an excellent start to the season under new coach Marcelo Bielsa but things have started to go off the rails slightly in recent weeks.
A slight dip in form has arrived after a red hot start to the campaign and the Yorkshire club have received another blow today with the news that star defender Pontus Jansson has received a one match ban from the FA.
The big defender has received his sanction after criticising the referee in the wake of the game against Brentford live on TV and it is fair to say that the Elland Road faithful haven;t taken the news too well.
Jansson has grown into a lynch pin of the Leeds defence but he will now be missing for the match against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night and plenty have been quick to slate the decision on twitter.
Pontus Jansson banned for 1 match for saying ‘shit’ on live TV. In the same match, Sergi Canós head butted a Leeds player in same game and goes unpunished. The EFL continue to find new lows in Football admin - (@dynamoshels)
Pontus Jansson of #LUFC fined and suspended for encroaching on the @EFL and @FA territory of bringing the game in to ill repute. Two governing bodies that should be completely ashamed of the way they have handled every aspect of the LUFC-Brentford match. - (@leedsiang)
Even the club were not happy with the decision...
#LUFC accept the one-match ban issued to Pontus Jansson following our game with Brentford, purely due to the fact that the club sees no value in making an appeal - (@LUFC)
Jansson won't be playing on Wednesday night but will Leeds get back on track?
