Liverpool Keeper Alisson Makes Save Of the Century Against Napoli And No One Notices

Liverpool didn't have too much to shout about in Naples on Wednesday night but there was one area to give the fans some cheer.

The Reds went down to a 1-0 defeat at the San Paolo but if could have been a lot worse had it not been for a stunning performance from Alisson in the south of Italy. The former Roma keeper made all the headlines during the summer thanks to his then world record move to the Premier League but if this match is any evidence, it was money well spent.

The Brazilian international made a series of excellent stops against the Partenopei but the best one of the lot went completely under the radar!

At the time, Dries Mertens appeared to have blasted his close range shot off the bar as Napoli pushed to break the deadlock, but on closer inspection it was a simply stunning save from the 26-year-old.

The imposing goalkeeper managed to get fingertips on the shot from point blank range which was enough to see the ball diverted onto the bar in a moment which really does have to be seen to be believed.

The evening overall was a terrible night for Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool squad but there is no doubt now that one area of major weakness has been fixed with the arrival of the brilliant Alisson Becker.

Liverpool fans have had to put up with a number of below par stoppers since Pepe Reina left the club but not any more, the future now looks bright at Anfield when it comes to the last line of defence.

This is a must watch video...
