The future of Paul Pogba rambles on as the Manchester United midfielder continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
It’s been no secret that Barcelona are keen on luring the World Cup star over to Spain, and now one of the club’s star strikers, Luis Suarez, who switched the Premier League for La Liga in 2014, has sent the rumour mill into overdrive after telling Catalan radio station RAC1 that Pogba would be most welcome at the Nou Camp.
"Pogba's an elite player who's won everything.
"He has a lot of quality and he's one of the references at United.
"I think he would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment. He's not a player that belongs to Barca, but he would always be welcome."
Since trading Liverpool for Barcelona, Suarez has gone on to enjoy immense success in the form of three La Liga titles, a quartet of Copa del Rey trophies, and the Champions League, and he’ll no doubt add to his ever-expanding collection by the time the season is out - will Pogba be by his side in the New Year?
Meanwhile, The Sun reports that Pogba is eager to play under fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane, who has been hotly linked with Manchester United. The out-of-work former Real Madrid boss previously led the Spanish giants to three straight Champions League triumphs, and now finds himself as the frontrunner to replace the under-fire Jose Mourinho.
Should United fall to Watford after the international break then it may only be a matter of time until Pogba plays under his hero.
But for the time being at least Pogba has been reunited with his fellow World Cup stars as France take on Germany and then Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League, before returning to Manchester for a tricky trip to high-flying Watford, who have stormed out of the blocks with four wins from four.
