Major League Soccer’s Worst Chants

Major League Soccer’s Worst Chants

Now, soccer in the United States of America, football to everyone else, took a while to take off over the USA but it appears they have caught the bug. As the game takes off the and the attendances increase, we are also treated to some of the worst chants ever.

Cringe away, people.

Seattle Sounders – Come on Seattle!

You should admire the passion from this fan but the chant leaves a lot to be desired. Seattle have one of better atmospheres in America but I’m not sure how much credit we should give to this guy.

Atlanta United – This is Atlanta!

Now Atlanta are new to the MLS this season which means their fans have a completely blank canvas to work with. Their fans are desperate to drum up an atmosphere and strike fear into the opposition. We’re not sure this chant does this.

New England Revolution – You’re not singing!

In England, we have a similar chant to this one but there is something so childish about this chant by the Revolution faithful. It’s in the same category as a child’s nursery rhyme.

Toronto FC – The Referee’s a w*nker!

The actual chant involved in this clip is acceptable, sung globally when you disagree with a decision against your side. However, Toronto didn’t quite grasp that as you can see in this clip, singing this song before kick-off, with the referee nowhere in sight.

Detroit City – Tetris chant

We end with a cracker. Detroit aren’t in the MLS yet but we are sure with chants like this it won’t be long until they are dining at US soccer’s top table. This chant has it all. Dance moves, cringy lyrics and a recognisable tune. This will be stuck in your head all day.
