Manchester United are considering making a move to bring Gareth Bale to Old Trafford according to stories today.

Don Balon, via the Sky Sports Transfer Centre, are reporting that United are looking to prize the Welshman away from the Bernabeu and that Bale is one of a number of players on a transfer wish-list. The report is suggesting that Bale could even be available next summer on a "cut price" deal having failed to impress so far this term.

The former Spurs star was expected to step into the shoes left by Cristiano Ronaldo at the Champions League winners but so far he has struggled to find his best form this term in a team which has struggled of late.

Los Blancos are looking for a new manager at the moment having dispensed with Julen Lopetegui recently and it now appears that there could be a major transfer overhaul at the club as well next summer.

Bale has been an integral part of the success of the Real Madrid squad in the Champions League with his stunning overhead kick in the final against Liverpool last season still fresh in the mind, but injuries have stunted his career and it could be that a return to the Premier League in 2019 is now on the cards.

Man United have been linked with the player on a number of occasions in recent years and it seems that the stories won't go away if this latest news is to be believed.

United have struggled to challenge cross town rivals Manchester City in recent years despite spending a shed load of money and the fans at Old Trafford will now be hoping that these links to bale turn out to be true.
