Arsenal fans could not believe their luck as they went 1-0 up at Old Trafford from a set piece. United had made the better of the opening few minutes and would go on to equalise through Anthony Martial but one of the best keepers in the world David de Gea, was to blame for this one.
United fans could not believe it as watching on they saw Sokratis meet the Arsenal corner with a firm header into the ground. The ball bounced up towards David De Gea who looked set to make a comfortable catch with no Arsenal player challenging him at the time.
However, inexplicably De Gea palmed the ball above his own head and across the line and despite the best efforts of Ander Herrera, the goal-line technology award Arsenal the opening goal.
United fans were keen to defend their loveable goalkeeper with @MourinhoMidset saying: Sigh. Still love you De Gea. He's bailed us out multiple times he's gotta make at least 100 more mistakes before I insult him on Twitter.
However, other fans were not quite so soft on the Spaniard. @TammyBaebraham said: another game, another mistake by the most overrated player in PL history”
Meanwhile @Robbo_131181 was keen to shift the blame onto one of the more common scapegoats: “Never mind de gea what about f***ing smalling AGAIN!!!!!!”
You can see the howler below, but De Gea did make several cracking saves to make up for this error with the scores level at 2-2. The life of a goalkeeper hey!
