Manchester United Legend Roy Keane Issues Heroic Rallying Cry To Players Ahead Of Liverpool Test

Roy Keane has delivered some stirring ords for the Manchester United players ahead of one of the biggest games of their season as they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool. The Red Devils have fallen short of expectation so far this season with a lot of the blame being placed on manager Jose Mourinho’s shoulders. However, Keane feels the players must step up to the plate.

''At some stage, the players have to take responsibility. You're talking about a lot international players and if you're on the pitch and if you're not looking after the ball or are sloppy in possession, that does come down to the player. At some stage, your pride gotta kick in. As a professional football, no matter who the manager is.

''Every game seems big for Mourinho at the moment. They look at the crossroads today or in the Champions League. You wonder what United team's going to turn up. And if you're not sure what team is gonna turn up, then in terms of a bigger picture you're in trouble.''

Keane then went on to deliver some words in the studio that seemed reminiscent of his playing days as he encouraged the United boys to give everything they have for the cause today, as the visitors look to spoil Liverpool’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

''Today, whatever happens - win, lose, or draw - Mourinho will want his players to run, to close people down, to roll their sleeves up. You can't win every week but if you're gonna lose football matches then roll your sleeves up and dig in.''

How Jose Mourinho would love to have a Keane-type character in the centre of his midfield today.
