Reports in Spain are suggesting that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot won't sign a new deal with the French champions and is hoping to open discussions with potential new clubs in January.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Rabiot would want about £170,000-a-week - which equates to about £9m-a-year - and he is hoping to make a fresh start when his contract with PSG expires next summer. The 23-year-old would be free to start talking to other clubs in January and there will be no shortage of suitors for the central midfielder, with Manchester United and Barcelona both rumoured to be involved in the race for his signature.
The Frenchman, who has been capped six times by his country but wasn't selected in their World Cup squad earlier this year, signed for PSG from Toulouse back in 2012 and has gone on to forge an impressive career in Paris, winning four Ligue 1 titles.
Rabiot has made 214 appearances in all competitions during his career with PSG, scoring 23 goals and effecting 16 assists, and he has been an ever-present member of their starting eleven this season.
The French star was part of the PSG side that lost 3-2 to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday night and he has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield in the past, although there is no shortage of interest from the top clubs in Europe
It is debatable whether Chelsea need to strengthen the centre of midfield, which is already an area that they are particularly strong in, while Manchester City have been linked with the player and Pep Guardiola was keen to add another midfielder to his squad. Tottenham are another club to have been mentioned with Rabiot following their failure to sign anyone in the summer, although they face stiff competition for a player who has reportedly caught the eye of Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus.
