Roma have produced one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the Champions League as they somehow overturned a 4-1 first leg deficit to edge past the mighty Barcelona in their quarter-final tie.
The Italian side looked dead and buried when they suffered a 4-1 loss at the Camp Nou last week and very few pundits gave them any hope of turning things around at the Stadio Olimpico.
Edin Dzeko's early goal gave them hope on home soil and Roma went on to dominate the match, with Daniele De Rossi converting a second-half penalty to ensure it would be a nervy finish to the game.
Barcelona's goalkeeper Marc-Andre der Stegen produced a stunning save with just ten minutes remaining but Roma were not done there as they extended their lead through a brilliant 82nd minute header from Kostas Manolas, who glanced home from a corner in the dying stages.
Manolas was mobbed by teammates, coaching staff, ball boys and anyone who could get to him as the Giallorossi celebrated one of the most unlikely comebacks in the history of the competition. They were 3-0 ahead and level at 4-4 on aggregate, meaning they went through on away goals.
Only two teams had ever managed to overturn a three-goal deficit from the first leg of a Champions League knockout tie - Deportivo La Coruna against AC Milan in 2004 and Barcelona against Paris St-Germain in 2017.
Watch and relive the moment that Manolas headed Roma into dreamland at the Stadio Olimpico.
