The last couple of months have been excellent for the Manchester United squad with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bringing the positive vibes back to Old Trafford in stunning circumstances.
The Norwegian has lifted the Jose Mourinho shaped gloom since taking over the job on a temporary basis but the wheels came off last night as United were outclassed by PSG in their Champions League last 16 clash.
The French champions rode into town riddled by injuries but even without Neymar and Edinson Cavani, among others, they proved far too strong for the English club with two second half goals all but ending the tie, and the outcome has left plenty of questions for fans at The Theatre Of Dreams.
A recent run of excellent form had appeared to have secured Solskjaer the job on a full-time basis but the faithful on social media may be having second thoughts after the display against one of the European giants.
The board now have a tough decision on their hands...do they continue down the route of appointing a manager who is clearly popular with the fans and has ties with the club but doesn't have any top level experience, or do they go back to targeting Mauricio Pochettino?
The fans are just as confused as everyone else with social media awash with fans who now want United to chase Poch...
Beside, the decision to renewal contracts for outdated players e.g. Ashley Young and Phil Jones was questionable. Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino should be no.1 choice and Man United needs to all out to get him first - (@WMFNIZAM)
This game, as much as people say it won't, will be a huge question for Ole. Games like this, you have to be completely honest and ask yourself, would you rather Ole or Pochettino? - (@RekkesqueUnited)
I think today was a reality check for OGS. He's done a superb job so far, but these upcoming weeks will be a real test for United. Still believe he is solely a caretaker manager. If Pochettino is available, should be a no-brainer for Woodward. - (@Nikobility)
Pochettino is the man to take Man United forward...Ole is only using emotions and passion to coach...the "we are Man United " method won't cut it against top quality opponent - (@sidramatics)
The managerial saga at Old Trafford looked to have been put to bed but the result against PSG was an alarming one and now it appears as if the Pochettino question is back on the table. The fans are clearly confused, but which way will the club go?
"Now we'll see their reaction to it and I think that's important."
