Liverpool’s loss to Paris-Saint-Germain at the Parcs des Princes this week has left the Reds teetering on the brink of dropping out of the Champions League altogether and staring the lesser Europa League directly in the face.
The 2017/18 finalists now need to beat Napoli at Anfield on December 11th by either 1-0 or a clear two-goal margin in order to progress to the knockout stages of the competition.
A further talking point from the match was generated by Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp’s comments post-game. The German was incensed by the behaviour and antics of his side’s opponents who he accused of making Liverpool ‘look like butchers’ by the amount of times they went to ground.
However, footage from the game shows Liverpool were conjuring up their own ‘dark arts’, ultimately to no avail due to Juan Bernat and Neymar’s strikes.
The short clip, which is available to view below, shows both defender Dejan Lovren and PFA Premier League Player of the Year and fan favourite Mohamed Salah laughably eating grass after minimal contact from Les Parisiens line.
This season, Liverpool have the third best fair play record and Klopp was quick to reassert that they have also won the accolade for the past two seasons in the English top tier.
Judging by their own behaviour in Paris, however, the Merseyside club shouldn’t have been so quick to throw those stones.

Liverpool next play Everton in the Merseyside Derby on Sunday at 16:15 (GMT).
