Leicester City are on the hunt for a new manager after Claude Puel was sacked by the club following a 4-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and one name in the frame to replace the Frenchman is Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard is up there with Brendan Rodgers as one of the favourites to take over but remained tight-lipped when asked about the rumours regarding his future. He said at his pre-match press conference:
"I think you know my answer. I am focused on the next game. We have to do the job, stay up, to do that we have to, and focus on that.
"The issue on my contract, and this issue, you have to ask about it, but my main target is three points v Burnley.”
Rafa’s Newcastle host Sean Dyche’s side on Tuesday night just days after Burnley pulled off an impressive win over title chasers Tottenham. Newcastle themselves are coming off the back of another home win, 2-0 against Huddersfield, and the home fans were treated to a good performance from their new record signing, Miguel Almiron. Benitez was full of praise for his new man:
"He did really well. We knew he has pace and energy. He was fine on the ball too.
"He has no problems. In training he plays with the same way. He likes a tackle and is not scared, he will get involved in challenges. We hope there will not be too many bad tackles on him.
"We thought he could give us extra motivation and help the team. "
