Peru and Denmark will be the third match on offer on a super Saturday of World Cup football, and with both teams having watched France edge past Australia 2-1 earlier in the day this Group D clash could be a monster tie for both teams, as they will feel that they are both chasing second spot to the aforementioned French, and the two differing styles should serve up a superb match at 5:00pm in the Mordovia Arena.
Denmark will head into the match as narrow favourites, and will be able to unleash Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen, who will look to pull the strings for a Danish side that warmed up for the World Cup with a 2-0 friendly win over Mexico. Eriksen was instrumental in Denmark qualifying for the World Cup, as he scored 11 goals in the qualifiers, and will look to be aided by the likes of Nicolai Jorgensen and Pione Sisto, who also line up for the European side.
Peru often have a tough task to qualify for the World Cup with the likes of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay in their South American qualifying group, but having passed that test they will now look to shock a few nations at the World Cup, and they head into the clash on the back of an unbeaten run of 15 games, and their frugal defensive line have only conceded one goal in their last seven international matches.
They were given a huge boost before the World Cup with the news captain Paolo Guerrero is cleared to play after a Swiss tribunal ruled on a drugs ban, but he is on the bench for today's clash, and they will look to Edison Flores and Jefferson Farfan to shine at the business end of the field.
