Real Madrid And Paris St-Germain Ready To Swoop As Chelsea Star Admits A Transfer Is ''Possible''

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has opened the door for a sensational move to Real Madrid during an interview with French TV channel Canal+.

The Belgian playmaker is out of contract at the end of the 2019/20 season and is yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, despite repeated offers from Chelsea.

Rumours are swirling that the 27-year-old could follow Thibaut Courtois by moving to Real Madrid before his current deal expires.

Speaking to Canal+, Hazard said:

I have one year left in June. If I don’t extend, it [a transfer] is possible.

I can’t see myself leaving in January. I wouldn’t do that to the club, the fans.

It bodes well for Chelsea supporters that Hazard, who has scored seven goals and laid on four assists in twelve Premier League games this season, will likely see out the 2018/19 campaign.

However, the player has admitted that a transfer could well happen in the summer..

Next summer it’s a possibility, but it’s also possible that I spend the rest of my career at Chelsea.

Chelsea's fans will be desperate to keep hold of Hazard as he has been integral to their success in recent years, although it will be difficult for them to keep hold of him if Real Madrid come calling.

Real have already snaffled one Chelsea star in recent times as they signed Courtois during the summer transfer window, a move which led to the Belgian goalkeeper receiving some stinging criticism on social media.

It seems unlikely that the supporters would turn on Hazard in quite the same way as he has spent five successful seasons with the London club, albeit Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham shows that they are still a work in progress under Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues need to be able to offer Champions League football to Hazard at the very least and he will no doubt want to be challenging for major honours. The next few months could well decide his future, particularly with Real and Paris St-Germain reportedly interested in snapping him up.
