Roy Hodgson Has Khouma Babacar On Top Of His Crystal Palace's Transfer Target List

Roy Hodgson has worked wonders at Crystal Palace since arriving at Selhurst Park in November, and the veteran manager, who has taken the Eagles from bottom of the Premier League table to 12th in the top-flight will be hoping in the coming weeks he can strengthen his side in a number of areas, and try and end the season in the top-half of the table.

Six wins in the Premier League since Hodgson's arrival has seen the Eagles fly up the table, and a battling 1-0 win over Burnley at the weekend saw Palace continue their improvement, and they will fancy their chances away at a stuttering Arsenal side this weekend, as they look to continue their meteoric rise up the table.  But, while the action on the pitch has been blossoming, it's a busy few weeks behind the scenes, and Hodgson is a man that is trying hard to strengthen his squad before the January transfer window slams shut.

We take a look at the potential players that Palace could bring in over the next fortnight:

Khouma Babacar

There's no argument that Palace's attacking options are limited with Christian Benteke often the main focal point for the Eagles attack.  The Belgian can call on the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Bakary Sako and Andros Townsend for assistance up top, but another striker is needed at Selhurst Park, and they are looking to sign Senegalese star Khouma Babacar.

Currently plying his trade in Serie A with Fiorentina, the Italian outfit are expecting £15m for the striker, and Hodgson is likely to be willing to pay it for the striker, who has also been linked with West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion.  Babacar has netted four goals this season for Fiorentina, as well as 10 last season, and could be making a move to London before the end of the transfer window.

Moussa Dembele

While Babacar appears to be Hodgson's No.1 target, the former England boss has also shown interest in Celtic's star striker Moussa Dembele, who could be on the move in January, as he looks to face a new challenge away from the dominant Scottish side.

It's understood that Palace are yet to place a bid for Dembele, who has been the main striker for Celtic over the last couple of seasons, and Palace would need to bid around the £20m mark to get his signature, but if for some reason the move for Babacar fails to materialise then Dembele could be next on the list for Hodgson, who is desperate to sign a new striking option.

Papa Badou Ndiaye

Another Senagalese star that could be heading to the hustle and bustle of the capital and a move to Crystal Palace is Papa Badou Ndiaye, who has been linked to a number of Premier League clubs, as he could be on his way away from Galatasary.

The 27-year-old has reportedly an £8m release clause in his contract, and this has come to the attentions of not only Palace, but also Stoke City and Watford, who could find themselves vying for the signature of the midfielder.

Diafra Sakho

A few days ago it had looked like Diafra Sakho would become a Crystal Palace player, as he was set for a transfer from West Ham United in the region of £12m, but Sakho, who has felt he has been undervalued by the Hammers, may not finding himself making the short trip across to Selhurst Park.

Desperate for a move away from the London Stadium, Sakho will certainly be hoping to leave David Moyes' side in the next few weeks, but he is not helped by currently being out injured, and you feel that Hodgson may look elsewhere for a potential new signing, as he looks to maintain his fine start to his Crystal Palace managerial career.
