Four matches is all it took for us to see the first Premier League managerial casualty of the season. AFC Bournemouth have parted company with Scott Parker in the aftermath of an humiliating 9-0 defeat against Liverpool on Saturday.

Interestingly, this is the sixth time since Jurgen Klopp took over as Reds boss that a manager has been sacked after facing Liverpool. Here are the other five manager’s who were handed their P45s after facing the German tactician.

Francesco Guidolin - Swansea City (3 October 2016)

This is around the time where we started to witness the decline of Swansea, who had been an impressive force when they arrived in the Premier League in 2012. Guidolin had been under intense pressure before the Swans lost 2-1 at home to Liverpool as they hadn’t won since the opening day of the season.

Goals from Roberto Firmino and James Milner were enough to seal the Italian’s fate after Leroy Fer had put the hosts ahead. Guidolin’s replacement, Bob Bradley, didn’t do much better either. With that victory, Klopp’s side had won four games on the bounce, scoring 13 goals in the process.

Slaven Bilic - West Ham United (6 November 2017)

Just over a year after drawing first blood, Klopp struck again. This time, Liverpool hammered the Hammers 4-1 at the London Stadium. A brace from Mohamed Salah, as well as goals from Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, were enough for the East Londoners to decide that a change in the dugout was necessary as West Ham were just one point above the relegation zone.

Slavisa Jokanovic - Fulham (14 November 2018)

A year later it was Jokanovic to face Klopp’s curse as a 2-0 defeat at Anfield left the Cottagers struggling at the bottom of the Premier League, having only picked up five points from 12 matches. Goals from Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri saw the Reds maintain their unbeaten start to the season as they sat second, two points behind Manchester City. Fulham acted swiftly in finding a replacement for Jokanovic with Claudio Ranieri appointed on the exact same day.

Jose Mourinho - Manchester United (18 December 2018)

For a Manchester United boss, there is nothing worse than to lose your job after experiencing defeat against bitter rivals Liverpool. Klopp's men beat the Red Devils 3-1, with goals coming from Shaqiri (2) and Mane, to fire them to the top of the Premier League table. Whereas United were languishing in sixth, 11 points off the top four.

Marco Silva - Everton (6 December 2019)

Silva was given the boot after the Toffees were beaten 5-2 at Anfield. A Divock Origi brace, as well as goals from Shaqiri, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum, brought the curtain down on Silva’s 18-month spell in charge at Goodison Park. He left the club sitting in the relegation zone. As for Liverpool, they retained an eight-point lead at the top of the table as they went on to win their first Premier League title that year.

Scott Parker - AFC Bournemouth (30 August 2022)

The man who loves an expensive designer cardigan has become the latest to lose his job after a horrible result against Klopp. The Cherries got off to a flying start on the opening day of the campaign with a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, before suffering three straight defeats to top six sides Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. The 9-0 was Klopp's first win in the league in 2022-23.
