Southampton manager Mark Hughes is working hard to secure the signing of one of the brightest talents from Real Madrid’s academy, Pedro Paulo Lubamba. At just 15-years-old Lubamba has already joined up with Southampton under 18’s for pre-season training and impressed the Saints coaching staff.
Lubamba plays as a left winger and is highly regarded in the Real Madrid academy and has drawn interest from across Europe. Portugues giants Benfica and Porto have also been chasing his signature and have both made offers for the young star but the Angolan born youngster would love the chance to play in England.
Southampton cannot officially sign the youngster until he turns 16 in September but they are hoping to make progress on a deal this summer. Saints are famed for their exciting academy having brought through the likes of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.
Lubamba will be hoping to join the long list of stars that have gone through this well-worn path and he could be a star of the future in the Premier League. This deal is still a far distance from being completed but the south coast club are in the driving seat to complete his signature.
Southampton have already completed the signing of Stuart Armstrong and Mohamed Elyounoussi whilst Angus Gunn is also expected to complete his move this week. They have let go Guido Carrillo after his unsuccessful spell at the club but they are looking to enjoy a more successful season than the relegation battle they faced last year.
Lubamba could be an excellent signing for the future.
