Swap The Misfiring Harry Kane For This Arsenal Forward As We Head Into The Fantasy Premier League Run In

The gameweeks are running low, with yet another enthralling season coming to a close. With just three fixtures remaining, us Fantasy Premier League managers are now at the do or die stage. If there is a gamble you’ve been thinking about taking, now’s the time. Who knows, it could be the difference between you winning your league and coming second.

At this point in the campaign our first tip will always be to ensure you’ve utilised all your perks (free hit, triple captain etc.). Why leave points up in the air needlessly? They’re there for a reason, use them!

Anyway, let’s get right into our player picks for gameweek 36…

Three players to buy

Ilkay Gundogan – Manchester City - £5.4million

For you regulars, you’ll know just how much I love cheap midfielders in FPL, with Gundogan being a prime example of my ideal signing. Picking up points, where your rivals aren’t is what it’s all about; the German’s 2% ownership is just brilliant in my opinion.

He’s scored twice in his last three outings, having now established himself as a regular under Pep Guardiola. Another nice little bonus with midfielders is that extra point they pick up if the team keeps a clean sheet. As they say, every little helps…

Ashley Barnes – Burnley - £5.4million

Bringing in Barnes is somewhat of a risk, but his form over the last few fixtures certainly makes it worth it. He’s scored six in his last eight Premier League outings, propelling his side to seventh in the table.

As was the case with Gundogan, Barnes also has a low ownership at around 5%. Finding those cheap strikers as your third forward option is crucial. I wouldn’t be wholly against bringing this lad in as your first substitute option; but only if you’re completely satisfied with your starting XI.

Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal - £10.2million

Choosing a third player to bring in during this GW proved to be tough, but I’ve settled on the French striker. He’s expensive, yes, but after scoring twice in thirteen minutes last weekend, he certainly deserves the start at Old Trafford this Sunday.

With Romelu Lukaku misfiring recently, it’d be wise to take out the Belgium international and switch him for The Gunners’ hitman who’s in excellent form. It is a risk though; so bare that in mind and think about the pick carefully.

Three players to sell

Leroy Sane – Manchester City - £8.6million

Things just haven’t been going Sane’s way recently, and he didn’t feature for City last time out against Swansea City. With Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling playing some sublime stuff, I don’t reckon he’ll return to the team this weekend.

His hefty £8.6million pricetag just cannot be justified if he isn’t a guaranteed starter, so get him gone and consider making a move for either of the aforementioned Silva and Sterling.

Callum Wilson – AFC Bournemouth - £5.7million

I’m surprised that Wilson, who hasn’t scored since GW25 is still in 5% of teams. Why?! Yes, he’s cheap, but that’s no use to anyone if he isn’t scoring those all-important points.

AFC Bournemouth have had an incredible season, but getting goals from Wilson has been like trying to get blood from a stone; it’s just not happened for him recently. Take a look at Burnley’s Ashley Barnes.

Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur - £12.9million

One goal in six (and even the one is debatable) just isn’t good enough for a £13million player. He didn’t look convincing during United’s FA Cup victory over Spurs, and he’s certainly been off the boil recently.

That money can be spent far better elsewhere, particularly when the race for the Golden Boot looks all-but over. It has still been a magnificent campaign for Kane, but it looks as though his race has been run. Get him wrapped up on cotton wool for the World Cup!

Good luck in your leagues. Hopefully, our tips have helped you out and we’re all sitting pretty at the summit of our leagues come Tuesday morning!
