Jurgen Klopp is considering giving academy product Ki-Jana Hoever his first team debut in the FA Cup clash with Wolves on Monday night.
The Reds are sure to make a host of changes to their starting line-up for the game at Molineux as the Premier League and Champions League understandably takes full priority at this time of year and that means one or two youngsters could taste first team action for the first time.
Hoever appears to be the most likely to take advantage of that opportunity with the young full-back clearly impressing Jurgen Klopp in a recent spell training with the Liverpool squad.
One or two eyebrows were raised on Friday when Nathaniel Clyne was allowed to leave Anfield on loan but the bespectacled manager clearly is happy to go into the rest of the season with the options he has at right back.
Hoever has been gaining a stellar reputation in the academy at Liverpool since joining from Ajax back in September and the 16-year-old could now be set for an early taste of first team action .
The young Dutchman can also play at centre-back and appears to be an exciting prospect for Liverpool fans to look forward to over the coming months and years. The teenager has only been at Melwood with the first team squad for the past month having been promoted in the wake of injuries to Joe Gomez and Joel Matip but Klopp has shown that he is not afraid to give the young players a chance and Hoever could be set to follow in the footsteps of Trent Alexander-Arnold and others in making his debut as a teenager under the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
