The Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Factor: The Stunning Statistics That Show This Rejuvenated Manchester United Star Is World Class

Manchester United conjured up one of their greatest ever Champions League victories to achieve ‘mission improbable’ after stunning PSG on their own patch, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku (two) and Marcus Rashford, who scored a - controversial - last-gasp penalty to send his side through.

Few backed Man Utd, who lost 2-0 in the first-leg, to overturn the two goal deficit but the rejuvenated Red Devils stormed back in Paris to win 3-1 on the night, meaning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men progressed through to the quarter-finals on the away goals rule. United are the first team to ever lose the first-leg 2-0 and go on to reach the next round.

Interim boss Solskjaer has now won won a simply sensational 14 of his 17 games since replacing Jose Mourinho back in December, while he’s been victorious in every single away game.

The goalscoring form of one Lukaku will certainly give the club confidence that they can go on to challenge for Champions League glory, while they can still secure a top-four finish in the Premier League, and they have high hopes of winning the FA Cup.

Lukaku may have been hammered in the opening half of the season but the forward has now hit tip-top form, scoring a brace in three consecutive games - against Crystal Palace, Southampton, and PSG - meaning he has more goals (six) in eight days than Alexis Sanchez has in his whole Man Utd career (five).

Lukaku now has a remarkable 194 career club goals on his CV, and is also Belgian's all-time goalscorer with a whopping 45 to his name - let's just remember for a second that he's only 25-years-old.

He recently entered into the top-20 all-time Premier League top-goalscorer list on 113 (19th), level with Arsenal icon Ian Wright. He's now within seven goals of Steven Gerrard, 10 behind United legend Dwight Yorke, and 11 adrift of Harry Kane.

And Man Utd fan are absolutely loving it…

LUKAKU YOU ABSOLUTE LEGEND. 6 GOALS IN 3 GAMES. GET IN. (@stopomar)

Romelu Lukaku is now Man Utd’s top scorer in the Premker League (12) and joint top scorer in the Champions League (2). Making a statement. (@StatmanDave)

I have always rated Lukaku, ALWAYS. Very dependable CF. Dude doesn't get enough respect for what he's done in the EPL as a #9, enviable goal stats! (@ItsOluwaTweezy)

Anyone who thinks Lukaku isn’t united class because he lacks finesse, has no idea. The guy is effective and has the stats to back it up. (@AMK_1981)
