Remember Charlie Morgan? The name may not ring a bell immediately but you will certainly know the Swansea City ballboy that was famously kicked by Eden Hazard in 2013. Well, now he is all grown up and making a hell of a lot of money.

In fact, Morgan’s company Au Vodka, which he set-up with school friend Jackson Quinn has now been featured on The Times’ Young Rich List, with the duo now up in 24th place after another incredible successful year. The brand, which is recognisable by its trademark gold bottles, sells coloured vodka in different bottles and is now sold by Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Tesco.

The vodka company initially produced 2,000 a bottle a day and distributed them around South Wales but word spread about the drink and now they have 630k followers on social media.

Now they sell 35,000 bottles a day and are sold in 40 countries across the world, and The Times has picked Au out as the company to watch in 2023. They employ 50 staff and are looking to crack America having signed a deal with Total Wine Liquor. Morgan has come a long way since being kicked as a 13-year-old at the Liberty Stadium. That night, after lying on the ball and preventing the Chelsea player from retrieving it, he got Hazard sent off as his side reached the final of the League Cup, where they beat Bradford City.

Having tweeted that he was back and ‘needed for time wasting’, he and Hazard made up after the game, as he went viral on social media. His followers on Twitter hit 100k and now the son of Swansea City's biggest shareholders Martin and Louisa has used his online fame to help him launch his business.

Nine years since that infamous incident, Au Vodka is now a growing brand. His rich family may have given him a leg up, but it’s quite the turnaround for the man that is now far more than just a ballboy.
