The Top 10 Teenagers From Europe's Top Five Leagues So Far In 2022-23

Some recognised names make up this honourable list

Football is filled with teenage talent. There are currently so many incredible young players in senior football right now.

And as we prepare to return to the domestic football season, now is a good time to assess the first phase of the 2022-23 domestic season to see who the current highest-performing teenagers are in the top five European leagues.

We have picked out the top 10 with a minimum of five appearances.

1. Jamal Musiala - Bayern Munich (7.65)

The young attacker has had a strong impact with the German giants as they look to retain the Bundesliga title. With four goals and one assist in six Bundesliga games, it is easy to see why the German international tops this list.

2. Jude Bellingham - Borussia Dortmund (7.43)

The England midfielder has been lauded for his most recent performances for the Three Lions as he stood out among his more experienced teammates to effectively seal his place in the starting lineup at the World Cup. With the most duels in the Bundesliga with 119, along with his composure to play forward when he receives the ball, he is one of the best players in the world right now, not just out of the young contingent.

3. Pedri - FC Barcelona (7.33)

Like Bellingham, Pedri is viewed as one of the young players destined for a great career. The youngster is already a key member of Barca’s midfield and his incredible passing qualities and neat footwork make him a standout talent. He currently has one goal in La Liga this term.

4. Alejandro Balde - FC Barcelona (7.11)

Pedri's Barcelona teammate Balde also makes the top five of this list. The left-back has looked assured since coming into Xavi’s side and he has shown that he possesses qualities both defensively and offensively, having registered three assists in five La Liga appearances.

5. Malo Gusto - Olympique Lyon (7.08)

The young right-back has been impressive for the Ligue 1 side so far this season, featuring in all eight of Lyon’s fixtures, registering one assist in the process.

6. Elye Wahi - Montpellier (6.96)

The Montpellier striker has had five goal involvements (four goals and one assist) in eight games in Ligue 1 so far. The 19-year-old has looked dangerous and appears to be one of the most promising talents to emerge from France this year.

7. Harvey Elliott - Liverpool (6.96)

The young midfielder has looked good whenever he has featured for Liverpool in 2022-23, having so far made six Premier League appearances, scoring one goal. He has been tipped for a bright future in the game.

8. Yeremi Pino - Villarreal (6.95)

Pino is one of the best young wingers in the world at the moment and he has already been linked with a host of European giants. In six La Liga appearances this year, he has found the back of the net on one occasion.

9. Yunus Musah - Valencia (6.87)

The USA midfielder has turned in some imposing displays in Valencia’s midfield over the first phase of the season and already has two assists to his name in five La Liga games. The former England youth national is likely to be lining up for the US in Qatar.

10, Romeo Lavia - Southampton (6.82)

Since joining the Saints from Manchester City in the summer, the world has taken notice at just what the Belgian midfielder is capable of. He has so far made five Premier League appearances for Southampton, scoring a stunning goal in their victory against Chelsea, but unfortunately got forced off through injury.
