The Champions League group stage returns for matchday four tonight and we have several exciting encounters to look ahead to. Celtic host RB Leipzig looking for revenge after their defeat, Manchester City travel to Copenhagen and Chelsea face Milan at San Siro.
Below we’ve taken a look at where the value could lie for Tuesday’s Champions League matches involving the British sides.
Copenhagen to win is 25/1, which gives you some sense of the challenge that faces them on the night. City thumped them 5-0 last week at the Etihad as Erling Haaland scored twice before being withdrawn at half-time.
But City are three from three in Europe and only need one more win to guarantee their qualification into the knockout stages. They should be able to beat Copenhagen without Haaland so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him rested here with Liverpool to come on the weekend.
Julian Alvarez started and scored for City in the Champions League last time out, so we’re backing him to get his name on the scoresheet at 21/20 with Betfred. There’s no value in a City win, so stay away from that particular market on this occasion and go for goals instead.
After Chelsea’s 3-0 demolition of Milan at Stamford Bridge, the bookies are running scared of Graham Potter’s men. But that has opened up value if you fancy the Italian champions, which we do. Milan were out of shape and out of form at Stamford Bridge, but after beating Juventus in the league at San Siro and having scored three against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League, Stefano Pioli can bounce back.
Both teams to score is 8/11 with Betfred which seems good value given the attacking quality on show, while Rafael Leao, who we backed to score last week, is 2/1 to score anytime. Meanwhile, you can get the same odds on AC Milan to win the match on the night, which they will be desperate to after last week’s showing.
Celtic found life tough as they lost 3-1 in Germany last week, and looking at the squads you can see why Leipzig are 23/20 favourites to bag another win. That as a straight up single doesn’t appear to be bad value at all, with the only factor being the Celtic Park atmosphere.
How much can that Glasgow crowd inspire Celtic to level the playing field against their illustrious opponents? They’ve only played at home once so far in the UCL this season, a 3-0 defeat to European champions Real Madrid, and they do need a win to keep their slim hopes of qualification alive.
Christopher Nkunku is one of Europe’s best and is 5/4 to score anytime which takes our fancy, even if you think Celtic can get a result. He scored once in the reverse fixture, while Andre Silva bagged a brace and is 6/4 anytime.
