''Utterly Hopeless'' - Liverpool Fans Explode On Social Media During Shocking Red Star Belgrade Debacle
18:47, 06 Nov 2018

A trip to Red Star Belgrade was never going to be easy given the atmosphere away from home and so it proved in the first half as Liverpool produced a limp display.

The Serbian champions were 2-0 up in double quick time with the Reds looking a far cry from a team which has gone unbeaten in their first eleven matches in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp will have been furious with the way the goals went in during the first period with a set piece goal and the midfield giving the ball away the two moments which saw Liverpool go into half time with a big hole to climb out of if they to maintain control of their Champions League group.

The whole squad were slammed on social media as the Reds floundered around in Belgrade and the opinions were flying in from every angle.

#REDLIV We've been playing s**t all season, and now we have begun to see our luck run out. Can't see a way back here, we've created practically nothing. Still struggle at set pieces. Can't create chances anymore. Typical @lfc Bottlers one and all - (@dave_g_nelson)

misplaced passes, fouls, loss of possession and useless long balls. Sums up the Reds. utterly hopeless #REDLIV - (@BoyOfTheWilds)

The social media comments kept on coming with the midfield trip of Milner, Lallana and Wijnaldum in particular feeling the wrath of the fans in the first half...

Pure petulance from lallana. He is so far off the pace it's untrue. - (@DanKennett)

Wijnaldum, Milner and Lallana for a tough away. Asking for it. Football suicide. - (@SteveMcVeigh123)

Alisson has been a massive success at Anfield following his arrival from Roma during the summer but the Brazilian has been questioned by some for the second Red Star goal tonight.

Alisson is also trash though. - (@Kaleb4real)
