The brilliant Bermudan Flora Duffy was at her scintillating best on home soil on Saturday as she romped to victory in the women's World Triathlon Series event.
All of the pressure was on Duffy going into the latest leg of the WTS series in Bermuda but she did what she has been doing for the best part of two years now - leading out of the water and dominating from there on out.
The 30-year-old led a pack of five out of the swim leg but her superior cycling skills were again on show during a tough 40km bike ride, which included 10 climbs of the infamous, and daunting, Corkscrew hill, before she cruised home on the run.
The reigning World Champion, who won individual gold at the Commonwealth Games last month, has now won eight of her past nine starts in WTS races, with the only 'blemish' coming when she finished 2nd in Montreal last season.
Duffy won in 2 hours, 1 minutes and 39 seconds in Bermuda, finishing ahead of Vicky Holland and America's Katie Zaferes, who each recorded a time of 2:03.25.
Holland was credited with the silver medal and Zaferes took bronze in a thrilling photo-finish, with the British athlete securing her first WTS podium finish since a third-place effort in Leeds in June 2016.
The Men's Race
Earlier in the day, there was a major upset in the men's WTS race in Bermuda as Norway's Casper Stornes won in sensational fashion. The 21-year-old was competing in only his third WTS event - he finished 29th in Leeds and 33rd in Rotterdam in 2017 - but he produced a stunning effort to lead a remarkable Norwegian 1-2-3, with his fellow countrymen Kristian Blummenfelt finishing second and Gustav Iden was third.
It was the first time that a WTS podium had been filled by members of one nation, while reigning World Champion Mario Mola of Spain finished fourth
