Tune in to watch The Sportsman’s LIVE, FREE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the Betfred Wheelchair Super League clash between the London Roosters and Leeds Rhinos.
The Sportsman is proud to host the first televised wheelchair rugby league fixtures since the Rugby League World Cup final between England and France back in November.
The first fixture of today’s ‘Central Inclusion Round’ that takes place in Birmingham sees the London Roosters led by England’s head coach Tom Coyd. Two Roosters’ representatives took part in England’s successful campaign also, with Joe Coyd and Lewis King picking up winners' medals. Coyd scored 12 tries for England in their campaign, and King set a special record for scoring in every single game, including the final.
2022 runners-up Leeds Rhinos sit atop the Super League table having defeated Warrington 118-12 in the opening round of action, and followed it up with a 50-38 win against title challengers Wigan in Birchwood last week. Current Rhinos include England captain Tom Halliwell and Nathan Collins, who were instrumental to their national sides' success during the World Cup. James Simpson is the new head coach of the Rhinos, who retired after picking up a World Cup winners medal in December himself.
This fixture is the start of a triple-header at Birmingham University, where we’ll be bringing you continued coverage of Warrington Wolves vs Hull FC at 2pm as well as the reigning champions Halifax Panthers vs Wigan Warriors at 4pm.
When the game is over and you wish to continue watching, feel free to head to our YouTube channel, The Sportsman Rugby League, where the next game will get underway shortly after, or refresh our website and the new game will be live in the newest article on-site.
