The Sportsman is delighted to present the Betfred Women’s Super League fixture between York Valkyrie and St Helens, live and exclusive from York’s LNER Stadium.
The Valkyrie got off to a winning start after they contested the opening fixture of the Women’s Super League schedule last Sunday against Leeds Rhinos, defeating Lois Forsell’s side 34-12 at Headingley.
Matty Smith’s St Helens are ready to get going this year, having lost out in the semi-finals of the play-offs last season, but they still managed to pick up the Betfred Challenge Cup. Their warm-up fixture was a success this season, defeating Bradford with a 14-try run at Thatto Heath’s Crusader Park in a 76-0 victory.
The match will contain a whole host of stars from the recent Rugby League World Cup, including England stars like Emily Rudge and Jodie Cunningham for St Helens and 2022 Woman of Steel Tara-Jane Stanley for York. It’s the perfect follow-up to a successful World Cup campaign.
