Ole Gunnar Solskjaer described himself as a "football idiot" during an interview where he talks about his love for football management computer games.
The newly appointed Manchester United interim manager arrives back in the North West from Molde for the rest of the season. The club will appoint a new permanent boss in the summer but for United legend Solskjaer, managing at Old Trafford represents the realization of a dream.
In an interview from 2013, the Norwegian spoke about how he's always been interested in management games - just like any other football fan.
"I'm a football idiot," he confessed. "If didn't care about the games where you played yourself, I was in manager mode. I was 7-8 when I started playing with my cousins. It was Commodore 64 and we played The Boss.
"When I played for Manchester United I relaxed with Football Manager. It's a fantastic game - I have learned a lot about football. I have learned a lot about players, especially young talent. it resembles real life when it comes to who will be good players - they have done incredible research.
"I remember thinking the same then that I do as a manager. You give guys the chance, see them develop. You could push a few buttons and get extra millions to buy players."
In the interview, Solskjaer revealed he never skipped the team talk option, stating: "You got to say something to these boys. Go out and have fun tonight. That's important.
"Many of my friends play FIFA and Football Manager, i think it helps them understand football better."
