West Ham United are considering making a £7m bid for Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente, who is looking for a way out of White Hart Lane.
The former Spanish international has had to play second fiddle to Harry Kane at Spurs since his move to the north London club from Swansea City in 2017, and the Hammers are ready to offer the former Athletic Bilbao striker a last-minute lifeline to gain some regular football.
It's been reported that Spurs are also willing to offer Llorente to the Hammers on a loan deal, but Manuel Pellegrini is willing to offer the £7m fee required for the striker's services.
With news that Llorente is not in Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the upcoming season then you have to feel that the Hammers will need to move fast in securing the signature of the 33-year-old, as he is the sort of player that would be wanted by a host of other Premier League clubs, but at this moment it appears that West Ham are winning the race to sign the experienced star.
It could be another notable addition to the West Ham squad after they gained the services of Arsenal man Lucas Perez, while we reported earlier on The Sportsman that Pellegrini is looking to bring Chelsea's Danny Drinkwater to the club, so there could be a lot of transfer developments going on at the London Stadium before the 5pm transfer window shuts, but all three additions would certainly strengthen the Hammers squad ahead of the new campaign.
