Chelsea are on the look-out for a new manager after Thomas Tuchel was relieved of his duties on Wednesday by new owner Todd Boehly.

The Blues have had a disappointing start to the season, losing three of their first seven matches in all competitions amidst some underwhelming performances. The decision to replace the German coach has reportedly been in the pipeline for some time and the new head coach will need to buy into the new culture at the club.

We take a look at the potential candidates to take over the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter - 10/11

The Englishman has been revered for the work he has done with Brighton & Hove Albion over the last three years. His side have enjoyed a great start to the season as they sit fourth in the Premier League, having won four out of their six games with some excellent performances to match. It has been reported that Potter is high up on Chelsea’s list and the club are expected to approach the Seagulls on Wednesday to seek permission to speak to him about the vacancy.

Mauricio Pochettino - 5/2

He may have not had the best of years in France with Paris Saint-Germain last season, but Pochettino was still able to deliver Ligue 1 and French Cup titles. He was criticised by fans and pundits alike for not getting the dream front three of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi firing, missing out on a maiden Champions League title. Despite his history with rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea fans will remember how good Spurs were at the height of the Argentine’s reign in north London and he would likely be interested in another Premier League challenge.

Zinedine Zidane - 11/4

Given his incredible three consecutive Champions League triumphs with Real Madrid between 2016 and 2018, it is no surprise to see Zidane feature high up in this list. He also won two La Liga titles over the course of his two stints in charge of Los Blancos. He has been without a club since last year and at one stage he appeared set to replace Pochettino at PSG before Christian Galtier took over at the Parc des Princes. This is the first high profile job that the Frenchman has been linked with since.

Brendan Rodgers - 8/1

The Northern Irishman may be having a tough time of it at Leicester City, but he masterminded a Foxes victory over Chelsea to earn the club their first FA Cup in 2021. Not only that, Rodgers got Leicester banging on the door of the top four for two consecutive seasons. He has been let down by a lack of investment at Leicester despite perhaps not delivering as much as he should with his group of players. If Chelsea were to see him as a suitable successor and they are willing to play the waiting game he could be unattached in a matter of weeks.

Diego Simeone - 20/1

The passionate Argentine has been in charge of Atletico Madrid for over a decade and it is hard to see him ever leaving the Wanda Metropolitano. After guiding his side to two Champions League finals and two La Liga titles during his tenure, it has long been wondered what he could do in the top flight of English football. Given how organised he likes his defences and the abundance of resources he would have available to him at Stamford Bridge, Simeone could have his head turned.

Massimiliano Allegri - 25/1

Lucien Favre - 33/1

Gareth Southgate - 33/1

Carlo Ancelotti - 33/1
