Liverpool may be top of the Premier League table but not all of their fans were happy with Jurgen Klopp's choice of starting line-up for Wednesday night's clash with Watford at Anfield.
Klopp has named the expected back four, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson starting in front of goalkeeper Alisson, but the rest of the line-up caused some consternation on Twitter.
James Milner gets a game in midfield despite enduring a tough match against Manchester United at the weekend and plenty were calling for him to be dropped, while others were amazed to see Divock Origi in the starting line-up. Roberto Firmino didn't make the matchday squad after struggling with injury in recent days.
Twitter users were typically understated in their reaction to the line-up...
HAHA NICE ONE NOW SHOW US THE REAL TEAM [@SambaRole]
Plenty were questioning the presence of Milner in the team...
Milner, after his performance against United? [NDK8A]
The lack of creativity in the team was a concern for some...
Cudnt imagine less creativity than sunday but wow well done you got me [@GaryConn41554047]
With plenty of fans desperate to see Xherdan Shaqiri start. The former Stoke star has made 21 Premier League appearances this season, although his actual game time in the top-flight has been limited to 1,016 minutes (an average of 48 minutes per game).
Why was shaqiri signed? [@Lewanjoski]
Big Shaq should have a chance to start [@ChurchBellJnr]
There was no place in the team for Jordan Henderson as he has been omitted from the starting XI following a reported falling out with Klopp.
Others were despairing at Klopp's selection decisions as the title race continues to hot up...
Do we want the league or are we purposely putting our hopes on the line . [@VigilantVanDijk]
And there was general disappointment that Naby Keita wasn't starting...
Get naby on the pitch [@bloodmanos]
Even if Keita is still feeling ill, any need for Milner? Surely just throw in another attacker like Studge or Shaq in and have Fab and Gini holding [@Rajsinghchohan]
