The Royal Rumble is a historical wrestling institution which pits the greatest performers on the planet together for the ultimate goal of headlining WrestleMania. This year's showcase spectacle comes from the Wells Fargo Centre in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is the 31st edition of the event.
The pay-per-view event is one of WWE's big four events alongside WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Survivor Series. For the first time ever, a Royal Rumble event will be held showcasing the best talent from both the men's and the women's roster. This is a huge step in equality and brings wrestling into the 21st century.
Randy Orton will be looking to become only the second person in history to win the Royal Rumble on three separate occasions but he faces a tall order to do so. He is up against 29 other superstars all looking to take his crown.
The Royal Rumble kicks off on Sunday 28th January with the pre-show starting at 10pm, with the main card set to start from midnight. You can watch it live on Sky Box Office or on the WWE network.
