Out of contract next year and still giving no indications on his future, where Aaron Ramsey will be plying his trade next season is an intriguing question.

Having worked under Arsene Wenger for 10 years, the manager who was instrumental in bringing him to the Gunners, it's understandable why Ramsey may have some reservations about what role he'll play under the new boss, Unai Emery, which is why he may be delaying on signing a new deal.

Emery, however, would love to keep the dynamic Welshman and sees him as an integral component of his plans, recently insisting: "In my opinion, I've said to Ivan [Gazidis], Raul [Sanllehi] and Sven [Mislintat] that I think he's an important player for me. I'm very happy with him. For me, every day, every training session, he has the ambition I want. He's working with a quality, the type of ability that I want. I want to work with him."

While the Gunners remain confident he'll put pen to paper, the waiting still continues, which has led to many clubs being linked with the £50M-rated midfielder. Lazio have been credited with the strongest interest so far, for they're keen for a player that combines power and finesse as Ramsey does to revitalise their squad seeing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic appears on his way and Felipe Anderson has moved to West Ham.

A multifaceted attacker with a fine work rate to boot, the 27-year-old's skill set is a desirable one indeed. Very competent over short, medium and long range in his passing, he can construct, facilitate or animate his team's possession phases. A tidy dribbler to too, his mazy runs can cause defenders many headaches, particularly when he's in full flight in transition.

Undoubtedly, the most important string to his bow is his ability to embark on penetrative forward runs from deep, however, that he does with such excellent timing and directing. These movements are exceedingly hard to track for defenders, who usually have their hands full with their own markings assignments, and wreak havoc on defensive units - something he's emphatically demonstrated over the years.

Always a solid contributor on the defensive end too, where he applies himself robustly and presses effectively, his worth is only amplified by his aptitude in this regard.

With talks still ongoing between the club and Ramsey, it's clear the former Cardiff City starlet, who's entering the prime of his career, still has much to consider.

This intriguing saga looks set to roll on, with the conclusion sure to be a fascinating one.
