Oleksandr Usyk produced a sensational left-hook to knock out Tony Bellew in the eighth round of a gut-busting world cruiserweight title fight at the Manchester Arena.

The unbeaten Ukrainian had been put under pressure by the Liverpool fighter in the early stages of their bout as Bellew, roared on by a vociferous British crowd, showed some classy shots to trouble the title holder.

But, as the fight went on Usyk began to show his dominance in the fight as it went into the second half.  Heading into the eighth round Bellew was beginning to slow dramatically and Usyk took full advantage as Bellew failed to get his guard up when tight against the ropes and Usyk unleashed a hammer left hook which caught the 'Bomber' flush and the Scouser crashed to the canvas.

A brave Bellew tried to get back to his feet as promoter Eddie Hearn watched on worryingly, but the fight was over and Usyk celebrated his stunning victory before taking the time out to check on Bellew's well-being.

Bellew, who is set to announce his retirement following this fight, produced some stunning stuff in the early stages of the fight and Usyk immediately knew he was in a battle as he looked to retain his Cruiserweight belts.  However, Bellew's engine began to run empty and it was Usyk that was starting to show his class and why he is regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in world boxing.

And the Ukraine star, who won an Olympic Gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012 and is hoping to step up into the Heavyweight division in the future, showed why he is held in such high regard as he produced a spine-tingling punch to knockout Bellew.
