Sergio Ramos may have scored a last-gasp consolation for Spain in their shock 3-2 loss at home to England, but it’s fair to say the Real Madrid defender had a night to forget in Seville.

Ramos, along with the whole Spain defence, were torn to shreds by a rampant and ruthless England in the first-half, as Raheem Sterling bagged a brace, with a Marcus Rashford goal sandwiched in between.

Then there was the ‘Challenge of the Year’ contender from Eric Dier who completely whipped out Ramos in his own penalty area, much to the delight of EVERYONE.

It remains an absolute travesty that the Spurs player was then booked.

Ramos is one of, if not the best, defender in the world today but it’s fair to say that he’s also one of the least liked, and fresh footage from last night’s game is unlikely to boost his popularity levels.

In a three-second clip tweeted by @Lordy88, the 32-year-old is shown stamping on a grounded Raheem Sterling, who subsequently rolls back in apparent agony while Ramos simply strolls off as if nothing happened.

Fans were left perplexed at how the officials missed the incident.

Ramos should've had a red card for a stamp on Sterling…[@JPT200]

How did Ramos get away with that stamp on Sterling in the middle of the box last night? Clear as day. Shithouse level [@DanArmitage1990]

That Ramos stamp on Sterling is disgusting. Maybe rival fans will now see that everything he does is intentional. Constantly gets away with it too [@KloppStyle]

Pen but so was Sterling and Ramos stamp he should been red carded if VAR was in evidence it would been 4-2 Ramos sent off [ @davspurs]

Usual assault from Ramos there. Tosser. [@JonbatchJ]

England now have four points from three games, while Spain stay top of the group with six points, and Croatia are rock-bottom with just a point to their name. The final fixtures take place in November.
