It feels like an age since we last heard anything regarding a new James Bond actor. Daniel Craig hung up his MI6 badge after No Time To Die’s release in 2021, pulling the curtain on 15 years in the shoes of the world’s most famous secret agent.
So who’s next? We’ve taken a look through Betfred’s next Bond markets to find out who the favourites are.
The current favourite for the role is Henry Cavill. With his on-screen duties as Superman coming to an end, and his role as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher stopping soon, the British actor’s schedule has opened up quite a bit. One of the most famous (and handsome) faces on the planet, he seems a perfect fit for 007.
Another Brit who certainly isn’t a stranger to blockbuster films. Avengers: Age Of Ultron, Kick-Ass and Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is as suitable for the role of James Bond as anyone on this list.
Happy Valley’s James Norton had a chunk of the nation completely gripped with his turn as the villainous Tommy Lee Royce in the BBC hit series. Playing Bond would be a far cry from his most famous role to date, but he’s undoubtedly a talented actor, a future star in the making, and would be a very popular choice to play everyone’s favourite martini-swilling spy.
Rene-Jean Page shot to fame in the first series of Netflix’s Bridgerton and has established himself as one of Britain’s biggest talents. Roles in last year’s The Gray Man, alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, and the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film, mean we’ll be seeing a lot more of Page in years to come.
The perennial next James Bond. Tom Hardy has been linked with the most famous role in cinema since the dawn of time or, at the very least, about halfway through Daniel Craig’s own stretch as 007. Quite simply one of the most famous men on the planet, Hardy seemed a shoo-in for Bond at one point but, at 45-years-old (Craig was 38 in his first Bond movie), could time be running out for him?
