Boxing has a habit of constantly surprising fans and that is certainly the case today with the news that David Haye is to manage the career of Dereck Chisora.

The long time rivals have had a rocky past to say the least but all those troubles appear to be behind them with Chisora charging Haye with the task of leading him towards a world title.

The pair engaged in one of the most famous moments in British boxing history back in 2012 when they brawled in a post fight press conference following Chisora's defeat at the hands of Vitai Klitschko in Germany.

That incredible moment lead to a famous clash between the "Hayemaker" and "Del Boy" in front of 40,000 at Upton Park, in a bout won by Haye, but it now appears those famous issues have been to put to bed.

Chisora jumped back into contention with a stunning KO victory over Carlos Takam on the under-card of the Dillian Whyte v Joseph Parker fight and it appears as if the 34-year-old is going to give getting to the top of the mountain one more go.

Haye has already been talking up a potential fight between his new client and the aforementioned Whyte in December which would put the winner within touching distance of a fight with with Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium in April.

The former WBA champion of the world, who is now retired, is one of the best known names in the sport in the UK and Chisora will be hoping he is the man to help him back towards the pinnacle of the fight game but either way, few of us will ever forget this crazy night back in 2012...
