Harry Maguire’s future at Manchester United could be in serious doubt with a meeting between the player and the club set for later this week.
The Red Devils are reportedly open to seeing their club captain depart this summer as they look to free up some funds in their pursuit of Napoli defender Kim Min-jae.
The end of Maguire’s time at Old Trafford won’t come as a surprise, with the England international well down the pecking order last season after some erratic defensive displays. In fact, his performances earlier in the campaign were deemed so comical that even the Ghanaian parliament decided to roast him.

But can United actually persuade Maguire to move on? Last week it was reported that the Premier League winner wanted to stay put and, according to Betfred, he’s just 6/4 to do just that.
Tottenham Hotspur (10/3) are reportedly interested in taking the 30-year-old although his wages, believed to be around £200,000 per-week, could be a stumbling block.
Champions League rivals Newcastle United (13/2) meanwhile are also mentioned as potential suitors, although they are supposedly keen on a loan deal, something that Man United are against.
Interestingly, Aston Villa (5/1) are another Premier League club said to be showing concrete interest in Maguire but, in this case, United are reportedly willing to complete a loan deal.
There’s sure to be a few twists and turns in this particular saga between now and the end of the window. The full list of potential candidates to take on Maguire next season, courtesy of Betfred, can be found below.
